Transfers - Week 22 - May 31, 2021

Hey yall this week was alright. We have been working with the members a lot more because our teaching pool is so small. We go street contacting everyday and do Facebook finding too. We can't find anyone that is willing to progress. Everyone just wants to chill and have a conversation, not learn. We stopped teaching a lot of people during weekly planning because we couldn't get ahold of them or they just weren't very interesting.

However working with members is fun. Funny how it works but ever since we starting having lessons with members, we have gotten fed a lot more. We met this couple in our ward that both went on missions to Mexico and met there. The man is from Panama and is trying to learn English but is pretty good. They are awesome they have had us over for dinner 2 times in the past 4 days and have already signed up a couple more times. They are awesome.

Yesterday we went out to Nixon and some other tiny tiny towns close by Nixon. Nixon only has a couple thousand people. Some of these other towns had maybe a couple hundred. However we went and visited a lot of members and a couple friends. A miracle happened. So we had 60 miles of gas left when we left and then we went over 100 miles without filling it up. The miracle is, is that we were in the boonies so if we didn't have gas we would've been stranded because we didn't have cell phone service.

We got a new sister in the district and she is brand new, just got off the plane. So finally I'm not the youngest. Oh and we got a new Elder in the apartment and he's superrr cool, his name is Elder Huish.

Its been a struggle bus out here for me though. Even though we got a few great members, we don't get a whole lot of teaching opportunities. I was bad at teaching at first but now I'm probably terrible. Sometimes I wonder if it'd be better if I was home because I'd be doing more productive things. Ok that sounds bad because this is the most important work. However no one wants to hear a message or anything. We get referrals and then they say no it was an accident or they started talking to another church (one of the 100 churches here). Its just a struggle because we try contacting them as soon as we get the referral but somehow they get someone else in minutes.

We are doing a lot of service for people. I've been messaging a lot of people on Facebook that have asked for help with things. I got a couple responses and hope to be doing service for some people this week.

Today we are playing some beach volleyball and some other fun activities with the missionaries that live in our apartment complex.

Love yall, hope yall enjoy this coming week.

Slam dunking on some kids - Week 21 - May 24, 2021

Hey yall! This email is going to be a short one. It was a good week. We played basketball with a bunch of kids yesterday and my white shirt was so dirty because it was raining all morning so the ball was all wet and dirty. We had a good amount of lessons. However a lot of our friends are super hard to set up lessons.

We try our best though. We did service at Barbs this week and worked on the farm a little bit and we skipped some rocks. Holy cow its a blast to be a missionary though, I get to just talk to people all day. I've really been working on my conversational skills to listen with love and to just ask good relevant questions that distract from the message we share too much. I've also been working on being kind to others, treating everyone with love and concern. I've done pretty well and feel so much better when I'm nice to others.

Also we had transfer news last night and im staying in Seguin with Elder Pollock. Well thats about it for this week. We are going to play zone games again here in a few minutes so see yall later!

Zone conference - Week 20 - May 17, 2021

Hey y'all this week we had Zone Conference and now we are aloud to do it with a lot of zones so there was 5 zones there. I had to give the closing prayer which was pretty fun I guess haha.

On Monday night we went over to Chris and Scotts and they were just having a BBQ with a couple of their other friends. One of their friends was just drunk out of his mind. They asked if we wanted to stay and eat some BBQ, and we said yes. Things got a little heated just for a second then we just stopped caring to teach them. They were just so drunk it didn't matter. We got a sweet picture with them.

After zone conference we had exchanges so Elder Neddo came with me to my area. We contacted some people and also couple of lessons we were supposed to have fell through.

The next day after the exchange back we slept a lot, because Elder Pollock got his second shot so he was dead.

Friday we had a training by the General Young Men's President of the church and it was super good, then we had a meeting with our bishop to see how we can make our Facebook and Instagram pages better. Good things are coming.

Saturday we went and did service and Barbs again, we worked in Vaughans knife shop and helped him with a few things in there.

Yesterday we had church and it was great Gil came to church. I then met the ward missionary leader. He's just some multi multi millionaire that's always traveling. I want to go to his house because he has a bunch of cows. Then we visited a lot of people. We stopped and this one house and this dog was barking at us and then our door was open to the car and he just jumped in so we were just chilling with him. It was a small dog don't worry.

Also I survived this week on 10$ and let me tell you that was hard.

We can do zone games now so we are going up to New Braunfels today to play some basketball and other things with the zone.

Love yall, I'd love to hear from y'all.

Covid Shot - Week 19 - May 10, 2021

Hey yall this week we did service at the refugee center downtown. A bunch of kids that have walked thousands of miles to get to America. These kids have some crazy stories. We just played with them and talked with them.

We had service at Barbs (she is a member). She lives out on a farm and has a bunch of horses and some cows. We had to put up some fencing because it got ripped down in a crazy rain and lighting storm. The fence is an electric fence and in some places it was still turned on even though she turned it off so we would get a fun little shock. But it was so fun working out on the farm.

I got my first Covid-19 shot this week and I got sick from it. So on Friday and Saturday I felt so terrible. On Saturday I just slept all day because I was feeling so terrible.

Our friends are doing pretty well. This week we've been seeing some of our friends starting to improve and having more of a desire to improve which is amazing.

The members in our ward our doing great, I love this ward so much, the members are such nice people. The Elders quorum president is so cool. Our missionary leader in the ward is always out of town because he owns his own business so I haven't met him. He lives on a farm with a bunch of cows. So I wanna go over to his house.

However I'm doing great and am loving Seguin and excited for this week to come. I love yall have a good week.

No Subject - Week 18 - May 3, 2021

Hey y'all hope you've had a good week. This week went by super fast. I feel like I just came to Seguin yesterday. I love it so much here.

This week has been super rainy here and we've been pretty busy. We've been stopping by a lot of our friends and having lessons or just catching up to see how they are doing.

On Saturday I went up to Castle Hills to see Joel's baptism and it was such a neat experience to see Joel (the living legend) get baptized.

We had zone conference this week which was great. We didn't get back to Seguin until 6 at night because of the drive and then we had to get the car service done.

Today has been a blast I bought some cowboy boots and I love them so much already. We played tennis this morning and Frisbee golf which was also so much fun.

Oh then Saturday my sister got a dog so my family has a dog now. My dad told me that he would never let a dog into the house when I lived there. Now they got one hahah. She is so cute I got to see her when I called my family!

Love yall so much keep choosing the right
