I'd like to start off by expressing how greatful I am for the amazing people that are in my life! Thank y'all so much for everything you do.
I had to say goodbye to everyone in the SA 1st ward this week; I was very sad. I'll attach all the photos below. It's hard to think that I had to leave all these people I love so much.
I made it to Canyon Lake on Thursday. Oh boy it is soooo different than the 1st ward. We had church yesterday and there was probably 200 people at church. I haven't seen this many active members my whole mission. The people here are mega rich too. Also, there are a couple parts where it's just redneck, hillbillies homes. The classic smoking a joint and drinking a beer. We have 3 people on baptismal date. We also found 4 people. Which is crazy for here. We found those 4 people on the past 4 days too, which is great.
I've been pondering a lot about different things this week. Especially, because of some certain circumstances. It really makes me greatful for the knowledge that I have because of Christ's gospel. As I've been studying the Book of Mormon and there have been so many different things I've been noticing. Especially the love that God has for his children; it is unfathomable. My focus as I've been reading the scriptures is grace. I'm only in 1 Nephi 7 and I have seen so many examples of Jesus Christ's grace.
His grace can enable us to to gain blessings and eternal life! Also, his grace makes it possible for Him to understand what we go through in life, it says in Alma 7:11,
"11 And he shall go forth,
suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that
the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the
sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the
bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their
infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh,
that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to
their infirmities."
Remember that he suffered all pains, afflictions, and temptations. That means no one knows you better than Jesus Christ. Why would you not reach out to him for His healing power? I have felt his healing power as I've learned about him through the scriptures. In Matthew 13:15 it says that His words will heal us, let them heal you.
Have a great week!
