New Mission President!! - Week 78 - June 27, 2022

Zone conference week. Last zone conference with President Tveten, he goes home this Thursday and the new one comes in the same day. I had my last interview with him; it made me really sad, I cried a little bit haha. He's been a great example to me of a Christlike person.

The area is doing well, we found 3 more people this week and had some amazing lessons. Even though we are having some great lessons, people haven't been coming to church. Church is important to come to, most people that end up coming to church get baptized. So we will work on that this week. 

Other than that it's been sooo hot. In the 105⁰, and it sucks. We've been trying to stay out of the heat, whether that's calling people, knocking apartment complex, or having lessons. 

Tomorrow we get to go to the temple! I'm so excited about that, that is probably my favorite place on this earth. Everytime I leave the temple I always leave having a spiritual high. Nothing can explain the peace from the temple. 

Elect; they are finding us! - Week 77 - June 20, 2022

We are going places here! We found 6 people, which is great. We are trying to build relationships with the ward leaders and members; we are trying to build super trust with them. So far I feel like we are starting to make trust with everyone, which is good. 

For lessons this week we had a couple great lessons. Probably the best one was a Facebook find. A couple months ago I put a free Book of Mormon on Facebook marketplace. On Wednesday a lady texted me asking if it was still available. So I said yes and we set up a time to meet. So we end up meeting at McDonald's and have an AMAZING conversation. To keep the story short, she wants us to teach her family about the Book of Mormon and the teachings from our church. She first found interest in our church from being friends with "Mormons". She was saying how good of examples these people were, and how happy their families were. So we're excited about that! Remember to keep being good examples to those around you. 

Other than that I'm getting fat, which I don't want to be doing. We ate at 2 burger places and 2 pizza places this week. The pizza places were alright, but the burger places were the best burgers I've had my whole life! Missionary life is great, yeeehaw!

Finding for days!!🌅🌡☀️🔥- Week 76 - June 13, 2022

These past few days have been long! 

At the beginning of the week I said goodbye to a lot of people in the Canyon Lake ward/area. I'm really going to miss it up there. That ward and stake has some of the best people I've met in my intire life!

I got to New Braunfels Thursday afternoon. I picked up my new companion at transfers; his name is Elder Godfrey. Honestly, he is an amazing missionary. He knows what he's doing, he's focused on his purpose, and he's fun to be around. That's all I could ask for in a companion. Now, the area isn't in the best shape. They have about 2 people they were teaching. So the last few days we haven't had any lessons and it's just been a finding grind. We've street contacted probably 6-7 hours total, knocked doors for about 2-3 hours, and been calling people for about 3-4 hours all in total. Lastly, we got kicked out and apartment complex yesterday. I was super annoyed because we had just knocked on someone's door. We were having a great conversation! Then the property manager walked up and kicked us right out. It's also been 100°+ the past week, plus humidity. So we've been dead tired at the end of the night. 

The ward is amazing though! I already feel so comfortable and feel like it's home. The ward has about 130 people that come to church weekly. We also had the opportunity to pass the sacrament. Which is always a honor. 

Saturday evening we hit up Bucees and got their brisket sandwich. Oh my heavens it was good. New Braunfels has the most food places I've seen in my life, I want to try them all, however if I did I'd probably weigh 400lbs and have tons of debt. Honestly, it's crazy how many food places they have.

I went swimming 🏊‍♂️- Week 75 - June 6, 2022

This week went by so fast! 

Yesterday, we had a baptism for Greg Brown. It was so amazing to see him get baptized, because it has been about 6 months of trying. With his health, it's hard for him to have a good day. However, yesterday he had the opportunity to make make promise with Heavenly Father. 

We got our transfer news last night and I'm going to New Braunfels this Thursday. We are getting doubled into the area. It's another car area, so I'm blessed in the summer heat 🙏. I don't know how I feel about it. I'm going to an area where the past missionaries were lazy, so it's going to be a grind. Also, I will be able to go visit Seguin!!!

Today for our preparation day we went up to Fredricksburg, Texas. It very touristy. We went and tried hot sauce, I tried a hot sauce that was 2.4 million something; which basically means it's insanely hot. I was dying after. The heat was going down my throat. Some of the worst pain I've felt haha.
