Baptism🌊 - Week 39 - September 27, 2021

Hello everyone!

This week was pretty well. I'll just highlight the best stuff this week.

We found 8 people to start teaching this week, our goal was 12. We had a few lessons yesterday with a couple of referrals, and it went super well I'm excited for a couple of those people.

On Saturday Gil got baptized. I had the opportunity to do the baptism for him. I was so nervous because I had never baptized anyone before. To make it worse he is 83 and the font was filled to my mid thigh. Oh boy I was nervous, it went great though. I was so happy for Gil he is such an extraordinary man. It was also super awesome to see all of the member in Seguin again.

Nothing else crazy happened this week. I got transfer news and I'm with a cross country runner now. Apparently he runs everyday and 11 miles on p days. I'm not running that far with this man, I might run a mile haha. I do not like running at all.

Hope y'all have a great week!

General authorities😯 - Week 38 - September 20, 2021

This week was crazy!

We did service on Tuesday for a member and while we were doing service we started talking about cowboy boots. Out of the blue I said that I might need to borrow a pair; I was being sarcastic. Well we got inside about 5 minutes later to have some donuts and he comes out with some cowboy boots, showing us them. Then he comes with another pair and he says try these on. I tried them on and they fit perfectly. He then says to me that they are mine. I thought I was dreaming, this man just gave me a free pair of cowboy boots, so thats sweet!

We had zone conference Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Tuesday and Friday were over zoom, however Thursday was in person. We had Elder Teh and Gilbert come speak to us. Elder Teh has spoken in general conference 3 times now, then Elder Gilbert just got called last conference. Now for a crazy story! So I was on exchanges Wednesday, and the other Elders in the apartment were giving a temple tour that night and Elder and Sister Gilbert went with them. These Elders were so nervous. They get back and they tell us the most spiritual story I've heard. Elder Gilbert is basically insane and put this guy on date. He wasn't a member but his wife was and it was just very emotional apparently. The crazy part is is that Elder Gilbert is speaking in general conference and he said he's going to mention this story in his talk in general conference!! It's crazy.

Well as we were hearing from these general authorities, I  admired them so much for their obedience and love for Jesus Christ. They were on a different level spiritually. I was just thinking how spiritual the prophet must be. It made me want to be as in tune with the spirit as the prophet haha.

Our friend Jo doesn't believe in God--well not yet--she has started to pray. She said the prayer yesterday for our meeting and it was awesome!! She is progressing and it is so awesome to see the changes in her.

I think that's it for today! I love y'all. I'd love to hear from y'all.

Hello - Week 37 - September 13, 2021

Well this week nothing big or exciting happened. I went on exchanges in Buena Vista; which is a spanish area. It was awesome.

I'm getting sick, but I'm going to keep that on the down low.

To be honest I don't really know what to write nothing really exciting happened this week besides interviews with President Tveten. I had a good interview with him and he is a very wise man. He helped me with some questions and concerns I had

Love yall!

Temple and Zone Conference - Week 36 - September 6, 2021

 Hello everyone!

This week was great! We had zone conference and we talked about how to improve our teaching skills. After zone conference we got to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead. I did the confirmations--because I hurt my thumb really bad last Monday at zone sports. It was such amazing experience and makes me want to be in the temple all the time. The peace and comfort the temple provides is undescribable.

We then found a family this week and it was crazy. We were visiting some members; we then see a family trying to move in. The family consisted of a dad, mom, and then a little kid. The parents were struggling to move all of the heavy stuff inside. The mom was telling me how she was praying for someone to come help them; she was so happy. After we helped them move in we shared a short message with them. I was noticing the message wasn't exactly what the dad needed to hear--since he isn't very religious. I asked the dad if he was very religious growing up and he said no. I then started to just do some How To Begin Teaching with him to figure out his concerns and questions. He then said to his kid to go into his room, and I was thinking "oh boy he's going to just unload everything on us." Well he unloaded everything on us. The things he was telling us were some HEAVY questions and concerns. I told him that I didn't know what to say; he respected that a lot. I then bore my testimony to him and the spirit was SO strong. I invited him to start to pray and tell your concerns to Heavenly Father. We then set up a return appointment. It's was such an amazing experience. The gift of tongues is real, even if you aren't speaking a different language. I had no idea what to say,  or what I was saying that whole time but it all made sense.

That's it for this week. Thanks to all those who read my emails. I love you all!
