Back to trio....- Week 30 - July 26, 2021

Hey y'all, this week has been a crazy week. A week full of emotions and a week of change.

Monday night we had a lesson with a family where their kids aren't baptized. There are 2 kids that are above the age of 8 that want to be baptized so we had a great lesson with them the spirit was so strong. We then had a lesson with them on Saturday and put them on date.

Tuesday we had zone conference. It was amazing! It was by far my favorite zone conference, it was just our zone so it made it more personal. It was a long one though. It was 9-2. We got there at 8 and didn't leave till 5 because of talking then interviews and some other stuff.

Friday we had youth conference. The stake asked us to come help them talk to the youth about how to teach The Restoration. So we talked to about 100 kids about how to teach and taught them to teach The Restoration. It was awesome!

Now we are covering 3 wards here and we are in a trio. Elder Gonzalez's companion went home early so he is with us know and we are covering 3 wards that are HUGE so this is going to be crazy. We have met 2 families from the Cibolo and Schertz wards and they are awesome members. One of the families had a daughter that is 19 that is going on a mission. She asked where I was from I say Riverton, Utah. She was roommates at college with someone that I knew from Riverton so we took a picture and sent it to the girl I knew so that was neat. It was nice to have a connection with someone.

Basketball on Thursday no one showed up. It was Elder Huish, Elder Whitmer, Elder Stowell, and I. So we just played basketball for an hour. Bishop pulled up to the church at 9 so we talked to him for a second and told him no one showed up. He said its a start and that's right. He also said plus you got an extra hour of Preparation day on Thursday. He is so awesome.

Welp, I love y'all! I'd appreciate hearing from y'all and hearing what you've been up to.

Birthday week - Week 29 - July 19, 2021

This week was wild!!

Tuesday was my birthday and everyone at the Christian cupboard sang me happy birthday so that was good. Then we went to Bishops house for dinner. Oh boy we ate good. He also got me so many gifts I was overwhelmed. You'll see how awesome bishop is as a write this email.

The next day bishop picked us up at 12 and we visited new move in/ less active members for 5 hours! It was great. We drove all around our area. He then had us over for dinner! Bishop is crazy. He owns his own business, so he is 90% a Bishop and 10% of the time he works. So he just is a Bishop all the time.

The next day we had exchanges. An elder that just came in came to my area so I was doing everything almost. Teaching was good though. We had a member lesson and a lesson with Gil. I'm excited for Gil. We also found someone else named Oscar. We've taught him the Restoration and Plan of Salvation. Things are going super well here in Seguin. We are teaching a lot more. I'm becoming a better teacher which is great. I don't get nervous anymore for any lessons.

Yesterday we had to give a training at ward council and give talks in church. So I was pretty nervous for both of those but they went well.

We had dinner at the Sargent yesterday.  I love going over there, Sister Sargent reminds me of my mom plus Brother Sargent is just so happy all the time. So it just feels like home over at their house.

Oh and by the way if you see me posting stuff on my personal Instagram account don't think I'm apostate, because I'm allowed to use it. Our mission president wants us to test out using our personal account for finding.

We are starting to play basketball on Thursday nights with some friends and members so I'm excited for that.

Well see ya later.

Spanish branch trio - Week 28 - July 12, 2021

¿Hola como esta?

This week was a super duper fun week. Elder Pollock left Monday back to Canada aye. So I was in a trio with the Spanish Elders. It was Elder Anderson, Elder Huish, and I. The Spanish branch is just a blast! We had a couple member dinners and went and visited some members for Elder Anderson to say goodbye to.

On Thursday we had transfers and I got my new companion Elder Stowell. I already knew him because I lived with him in my last apartment. He is a very good missionary.

We have really been trying to work with the members here to build super trust with them. I feel like we are already been building super trust with our bishop because we ask who we can visit or what we can do and he gives us idea, then we do it asap. We then report and I can already tell he has a lot of trust in us. He took us out to get BBQ and had a great a great talk with him.

Yesterday was church. A Brother in our ward got the Melchizedek priesthood and he asked me to join in the circle so that was very nice of him to let me join. We also helped pass the sacrament.

We went over to Brother McLanes house for dinner. Oh boy I love going to his house because he lives out on a boujee ranch. We had a great talk with him and then he took us on a ride around his ranch on a side by side showing us a baby horse and his cows and longhorns. It was awesome!

Thats it for this week bye bye.

Transfers - Week 27 - July 5, 2021

Heyo!!!

This week was a decent week. So I'm just gunna tell you all the sweet stuff that happened this week. First was the fourth of July weekend. On Saturday we went to the parade that Seguin does, its the biggest small town parade in the United States. It was so sweet. Later that night we went to bishops house and he made this thing called a scorpion for dinner plus just a ton of steak. I got a picture of it all so ill attach it to this email. It was so good though.

On Friday we had two dinners with members in the ward. The first one was with a family that recently moved in and the husband is a recent convert but they are a solid family. The second family we had dinner with just moved to Texas a month ago from Sandy, Utah. The dad is soo cool. He was in the navy and was the pilot for a submarine. So he was telling us all these crazy stories about his submarine that he was in charge of and all that.

Yesterday, was a pretty productive day. We did a lot, but we ended up saying goodbye to Charles. He is moving to Washington with his girlfriend. We will see if that actually happens though. We had dinner with the Alverez's, they are soo cool I love them a lot.

We also had exchanges with Elder Nordgren, so I went down to De Zavala (spanish speaking) which is in New Braunfels. We were street contacting and found two people. The first lady was super cool and seemed actually interested, plus she gets passed off to us because she's English. Then it started POURING rain and we decided to go talk to this dude mowing his lawn in the pouring rain. So we were soaked after and the Book of Mormon was soaking wet. Great memories.

Yesterday we got transfer news and Elder Stowell is coming to Seguin. Yall have no idea how excited I was for that I was jumping off the walls.

Thats it for this week. See ya later. Love yall.
