Transfers - Week 22 - May 31, 2021

Hey yall this week was alright. We have been working with the members a lot more because our teaching pool is so small. We go street contacting everyday and do Facebook finding too. We can't find anyone that is willing to progress. Everyone just wants to chill and have a conversation, not learn. We stopped teaching a lot of people during weekly planning because we couldn't get ahold of them or they just weren't very interesting.

However working with members is fun. Funny how it works but ever since we starting having lessons with members, we have gotten fed a lot more. We met this couple in our ward that both went on missions to Mexico and met there. The man is from Panama and is trying to learn English but is pretty good. They are awesome they have had us over for dinner 2 times in the past 4 days and have already signed up a couple more times. They are awesome.

Yesterday we went out to Nixon and some other tiny tiny towns close by Nixon. Nixon only has a couple thousand people. Some of these other towns had maybe a couple hundred. However we went and visited a lot of members and a couple friends. A miracle happened. So we had 60 miles of gas left when we left and then we went over 100 miles without filling it up. The miracle is, is that we were in the boonies so if we didn't have gas we would've been stranded because we didn't have cell phone service.

We got a new sister in the district and she is brand new, just got off the plane. So finally I'm not the youngest. Oh and we got a new Elder in the apartment and he's superrr cool, his name is Elder Huish.

Its been a struggle bus out here for me though. Even though we got a few great members, we don't get a whole lot of teaching opportunities. I was bad at teaching at first but now I'm probably terrible. Sometimes I wonder if it'd be better if I was home because I'd be doing more productive things. Ok that sounds bad because this is the most important work. However no one wants to hear a message or anything. We get referrals and then they say no it was an accident or they started talking to another church (one of the 100 churches here). Its just a struggle because we try contacting them as soon as we get the referral but somehow they get someone else in minutes.

We are doing a lot of service for people. I've been messaging a lot of people on Facebook that have asked for help with things. I got a couple responses and hope to be doing service for some people this week.

Today we are playing some beach volleyball and some other fun activities with the missionaries that live in our apartment complex.

Love yall, hope yall enjoy this coming week.
