Hello everyone!
This week was great! We had zone conference and we talked about how to improve our teaching skills. After zone conference we got to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead. I did the confirmations--because I hurt my thumb really bad last Monday at zone sports. It was such amazing experience and makes me want to be in the temple all the time. The peace and comfort the temple provides is undescribable.
We then found a family this week and it was crazy. We were visiting some members; we then see a family trying to move in. The family consisted of a dad, mom, and then a little kid. The parents were struggling to move all of the heavy stuff inside. The mom was telling me how she was praying for someone to come help them; she was so happy. After we helped them move in we shared a short message with them. I was noticing the message wasn't exactly what the dad needed to hear--since he isn't very religious. I asked the dad if he was very religious growing up and he said no. I then started to just do some How To Begin Teaching with him to figure out his concerns and questions. He then said to his kid to go into his room, and I was thinking "oh boy he's going to just unload everything on us." Well he unloaded everything on us. The things he was telling us were some HEAVY questions and concerns. I told him that I didn't know what to say; he respected that a lot. I then bore my testimony to him and the spirit was SO strong. I invited him to start to pray and tell your concerns to Heavenly Father. We then set up a return appointment. It's was such an amazing experience. The gift of tongues is real, even if you aren't speaking a different language. I had no idea what to say, or what I was saying that whole time but it all made sense.
That's it for this week. Thanks to all those who read my emails. I love you all!
